Re: Hotel/motel and mileage reimbursements
Hotel/motel reimbursements will be limited to $60 per room per night. These rates are usually available at Christy's Motel in Old Forge (315-369-6138), Hotel Utica (1-877-906-1912), and Northwoods in Lake Placid (518-523-1818). Anyone desiring more upscale accommodations must pay the difference themselves.

Mileage reimbursements have been increased to 24 cents per mile; flat rate mileage reimbursement cannot be honored in order to keep it fair for everyone.

Name Badges & Vests
Each spring I wait to purchase vests and name tags for our volunteers, until the RR starts generating income. We know many of you would like either or both of the above and if you will call me at (315) 724-1748, I will place your order. The railroad does purchase the initial name tag for each volunteer. We have offered to have a few vests on the train for volunteers to wear, but to date each person has elected to pay $10.00 towards their own personal vest. I’m hoping I can order the vests soon, and would like to continue purchasing them from Josie’s Uniform store. However, as many of you may know, there was a disastrous fire on upper south Genesee St. in Utica which destroyed much of Josie’s and a pizza place next door.  She has said she is going to continue her business and has reopened in the New Hartford village.
